TOBA TEK SINGH: Wanted man arrested

TOBA TEK SINGH, Nov 18: A proclaimed offender, who had escaped from a lock-up in Sheikhupura a few weeks ago, was arrested by the Gojra police on Wednesday night.

Accused Hafeezullah alias Billa was wanted in a number of murder and dacoity cases by police of different districts. The accused and his accomplice Azhar Abbas of Jhang had injured seriously lumberdar Mehboob Alam of Chak 99-JB (Gojra) last week on Gojra-Pucca Anna Road on resistance during a robbery bid.

Acting on a tip-off, the police raided the hideout of both the accused and arrested them. The arrested accused confessed to have their involvement in dozens of dacoity cases.

The police were conducting raids for the arrest of their accomplices.

LOOTED: A poultry farm owner was injured seriously on resistance during a dacoity in his house in Gobindpura locality here on Thursday.

Injured Farooq informed the police that three dacoits barged into his house and held the inmates hostage. The intruders collected cash and other valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. For holding them out, Farooq said one of the dacoits attacked with a sharp-edged knife and injured him.
