JACOBABAD, Nov 18: The Federal Minister for Local Bodies, Justice (rtd) Abdul Razzaq Thaheem, has said that the Sindh chief minister will soon announce the bifurcation of the district.

Talking to newsmen at the press club here on Thursday, he said that circumstances warranted that President Gen Musharraf should continue to wear army uniform because of war on extremism in the country demanded it.

The minister said the country was progressing under the doctrine of enlightened moderation. He said all issues would be resolved during the Musharraf government. He said the opposition's agitation would prove futile as the assemblies would complete constitutional tenure.

The minister said there was no provision for the deputy prime minister in the Constitution and the rumours of appointing Zafarullah Jamali as the deputy prime minister were baseless.

He said the local bodies elections would be held in time and district nazims would be replaced with administrators. He said that Rs450 million had been released for the construction of Jacobabad bypass.

On this occasion, the president of the Jacobabad press club, Dr A.G. Ansari, briefed the minister about problems of journalists. The minister presented a cheque of Rs5,000 for the club while the DCO announced a donation of Rs10,000 for the club.
