RAWALPINDI, Nov 16: Thieves broke into a commercial bank in I-10 Markaz and made off with Rs3.32 million, police said on Monday.

Bank Manager Raja Abdul Hafeez lodged a complaint with the I-10 Sabzi Mandi police, stating that the thieves broke into the bank by cutting the grill sometime during Eid holidays and took away the safe containing Rs3.32 million. The safe also contained foreign currency.

Police are suspecting that the bank's security guard, identified as Badshah Gul, might be involved in the theft. However, he is yet to be traced out by the police.

Meanwhile, a 27-year-old man was shot dead by two persons outside his house in Dhoke Charaghdin on Tuesday.

Sajjad Asghar was heading towards his house when Anser Khan and Mohammad Riaz opened fire after intercepting him in the street. As a result, Sajjad was injured critically and shifted to a hospital where he died.
