FAISALABAD, Nov 10: Sadar police on Wednesday registered a fraud case against five people, including a lady councillor and a union council secretary.

Jawed Iqbal of Allama Iqbal Colony filed a writ petition before a local court, claiming that he had divorced his wife in June last year due to some domestic dispute.

He alleged that his wife, Sughran Bibi, with the connivance of her sister and councillor Khadija and UC No 148 secretary Syed Muhammad Raza tampered with the nikah nama. He blamed that they made a false entry in it that he (Jawed Iqbal) would allot all his property to his wife in case of divorce.

The court after hearing the case found the accused persons guilty and ordered for the registration of a case against them. Sadar police booked Syed Muhammad Raza, Khadija, Muhammad Usman, Malik Maqsood and Sughran Bibi.
