KARACHI: Three shot dead

KARACHI, Nov 9: A middle-aged man was killed by unknown suspects late Monday night in Chakiwara police limits. Police said Ramzan alias Dada was sitting near Maula Madad Chowk in Sangulane when unknown suspects on a motorcycle pulled up and shot him.

The injured was shifted to the Civil Hospital where Ramzan died during treatment. Police suspected that the victim was killed on suspicion of being a police informer.

A former worker of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was killed by unknown suspects outside his house in North Nazimabad late Monday night.

Police said Fareed, 35, a taxi driver, was sitting outside his house in Arafat Town (Block L) when unknown suspects on a motorcycle pulled up and shot him.

The victim was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said that Fareed had joined the police force in 1991, but was dismissed in 1993. In 2002, he was arrested in an injured condition during an encounter in 2002. Since then he was on bail, police added.

A security guard was shot dead by unknown suspects in Lines Area on Tuesday morning.

Police said the salesman of a distribution company was unloading cargo at Subhan General Store with his guard Mohammad Huymanun, 60, when two suspects intercepted them.

The bandits tried to snatch the repeater gun of the security guard. As he tried to resist them, suspects shot him and fled from the spot, leaving the weapon.

Police said they also did not take away the cash. The wounded guard was shifted to JPMC where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The victim was a resident of Channser Goth.
