NAB serves notice on minister

RAWALPINDI, Nov 6: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat has been served with notice by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to appear before the court on November 9, an official source said.

The source said NAB had served the notice on the former interior minister through the Islamabad police, asking him to appear in the court in connection with a case lodged against him in 2000.

A police officer of the rank of inspector went to Mr Hayat's office for delivery of the notice, he added.

The source said the notice was received by the minister's personal assistant (PA). The official said summons would be issued if the accused failed to appear before the court.
