HYDERABAD, Nov 4: The Phulelli police have registered a ease against four activists of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement following the murder of MQM activist Saleem Inqilabi.

Mohammad Shahid, younger brother of the deceased, nominated Shahid Abbasi, Mohammad Arif, Abid and Jamilur Rehman Abbasi in the case.

The complainant stated that he and his nephew, Athar Gul, were present near the Tando Yousuf railway crossing when the accused shot dead Inqilabi, who was going to his home. He said when he tried to go to the spot the assailants aimed pistols at him and asked him to keep away. Then they escaped.

It was learnt that the case was lodged after due consultation with the local leadership of the party as Jamilur Rehman is a former in charge of unit-15 of the party in the Latifabad taluka.

Except for Shahid, the remaining accused are reportedly in the custody of police but they have not been shown arrested.
