Fuel oil prices raised

KARACHI, Nov 2: Oil marketing companies have increased the furnace oil prices by Rs852 to Rs1,015 per ton from November 1, 2004.

Shell Pakistan Limited (SPL) has enhanced the price of fuel oil (ex-Keamari) by Rs852 per ton while Pak Arab Refinery Limited (Parco) by Rs1,015 per ton (ex-Mehmood Kot).

On January 1, 2004, Parco's fuel was selling at Rs12,166 per ton as against the current rate of Rs16,660 per ton, up by 27 per cent. Shell's fuel price also went up by same percentage to Rs16,247 from Rs11,763 per ton on January 1, 2004.

On September 16, oil marketing companies had raised the fuel oil prices by Rs1,000 per ton.
