PESHAWAR: Naatia Mushaira

Published November 1, 2004

PESHAWAR, Oct 31: The Gandhara Hindko Board has arranged a grand open-air Hindko Naatia Mushaira on Nov 6 here at Yakatoot Chowk at 9pm.

The event is being held under the patronage of Peshawar's eminent religious figure, Syed Mohammad Noorul Hassnain Gillani, popularly known as Sultan Agha, says a press release.

About 50 Hindko poets from different districts of the NWFP are expected to participate in the function to pay tributes to the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him).

Two young Hindko poets, prose writers and researchers, Malik Arshad Hussain and Ahmad Nadeem Awan, will compere the programme.

The Gandhara Hindko Board, a literary-cum-cultural body working for the preservation and promotion of the Hindko language and Hindkowan culture for the last 11 years, has revived an old tradition by holding a Naatia Mushaira in the heart of the walled city of Peshawar.
