KARACHI, Oct 26: The city government will construct 28 overhead bridges on city's busy roads to facilitate the pedestrians to cross the roads.

In this regard, city government's transport and communication department has signed agreements with four companies at a meeting held in the office of City Nazim Naimatullah Khan.

The MoUs were signed by EDO Transport Dr Tahir Soomro on behalf of the city government while the four companies namely the Armada on Road Advertising, the Gujrat Steel, the United Construction Company and the Universal Construction Company were represented by their officials. A total of 28 overhead bridges will be constructed on Built, Operate and Transfer basis.

City Nazim Naimatullah Khan directed the officials concerned to ensure that traffic flow should not get affected during the construction of overhead bridges and the construction work must be completed within the stipulated time.

The overhead bridges will be constructed at Lal Kothi Bus Stop, Sharea Faisal; Capri Cinema, M.A. Jinnah Road; opposite main gate of Mazar-i-Quaid; Wireless Gate, the National Highway; Old Sabzi Mandi; 3-1/2 Mohajir Camp; Hub River Road; Ghas Bandar; Chotta Gate, National Highway; Shershah Suri Road, North Nazimabad; Golden Gate, Nawab Siddiq Ali Khan Road; Inquiry Office, Shahrah-i-Pakistan Nasirabad; Hakim Ibn-i-Sina Road Liaquat No 4; Maulvi Tamizuddin Khan Road; Old Haji Camp, University Road near Edhi Centre; Drigh Road Railway Station; Mumtaz Manzil, University Road; K-2 bus stop, North Nazimabad; Hakim Ibn-i-Sina Road, Nazimabad No 2; Mauripur Road near Lyari Railway Station; Behzad Lakhnavi Road, Shadman Town; Pir Bukhari Mazar, Sharea Faisal; Aladin Park, Rashid Minhas Road; Nawab Siddiq Ali Khan Road, Nazimabad No 6; Al-Asif Square, Super Highway; Jamaat Khana, Shahrah-i-Pakistan; Wazir Mansion Railway Station; Estate Avenue near EM Oil Mills. -APP
