JACOBABAD, Oct 26: Around 2,200 candidates for 50 vacancies of vaccinators in the health department appeared in interviews here on Tuesday.

The interviewing committee comprised of Project Director of the Extended Programme of Immunization Naheed Jamali, director of health services Abdul Qadir Shaikh and EDO health Agha Noor Ahmed Pathan.

FINED: Deputy district officer of revenue department Sahid Abdul Salam Pathan paid surprise visits to different bazaars here on Tuesday to check prices of essential commodities. He fined 13 shopkeepers for overcharging.

FAKE DOMICILES: A relative of a failed MBBS candidate has alleged that eight candidates with fake permanent residence and domicile certificates were selected for admission to MBBS in the Chandka Medical College.

Speaking at a press conference here on Sunday, Mohammad Khan Soomro said that instead of the signature of the revenue EDO, the PRCs, in violation of rules, bore the signature of an assistant.

TERMINATION: Chief engineer of the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company, Mohammad Sharif Ansari, has terminated the service of Kashmore sub-divisional officer Farid Ahmed Pathan.

Earlier, the SDO was served a show-cause notice, followed by an inquiry against him.
