ISLAMABAD Oct 25: Former prime minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Monday said there was no danger to the system and that the assemblies would complete tenure despite opposition's movement threats.

Talking to reporters at an iftar-dinner hosted by minister of state for water and power Amir Muqam here, Mr Jamali said there was nothing to worry about the future of the democratic system nor the frequent breaking of quorums was any threat to the system.

He said there should be a political team under prime minister Shaukat Aziz's dispensation set up to tackle the political issues, including persuading the opposition to remain within parliamentary democratic norms.

He said he was ready to work as member of the proposed political team.

He ruled out any conspiracy behind breaking up of quorums to destabilize Shaukat Aziz's government.

In reply to a query, he said it was the desire of President Musharraf that the present system was allowed to flourish and strengthen for the good of democracy.

Jamali was skeptic of the rumours of change and said it had become culture of the country that after every two three years people start talking of set-up change.

Former premier said, despite he was replaced as prime minister, he still was a member of the ruling party and government and would do his best to help the government run its affairs smoothly.

He however expressed the hope that after chalking out a fresh strategy the quorum problem will permanently be solved and all of us will be able to run the assembly smoothly.

He said, completion of quorum in the parliament was collective responsibility of the cabinet ministers and he would like to ask them to fulfil this responsibility in future.

He dismissed the rumours about any change in command of the ruling PML and said Chaudhry Shujaat was president and will remain president of the party.

Responding to a question he said there was no question of degradation of politicians under the present system and if someone feels himself degraded he may leave the political arena altogether.
