KASUR, Oct 21: Two people were killed while three others sustained injuries as a speeding milk van overturned here on Thursday on the Illahabad-Kasur Road.
Reports said the Chunian-bound van (LHP-2011) rammed into a tree and overturned as a result driver Manzoor Ahmad and Faqir Hussain died on the spot while Jamil Ahmad, Rizwan Ali and Sharif sustained injuries.
FINE RECOVERED: The district government has recovered fine worth Rs50,000 from shopkeepers for overcharging in various raids at Ramazan Bazaars.
This was disclosed during a meeting held here on Thursday to review the prices and quality of eatables with DCO Mohammad Hashim Tareen in the chair.
The meeting was attended by the heads of various departments, including Kasur, Chunian and Pattoki tehsil municipal officers.
The meeting expressed its satisfaction over the supply of atta bags at different sale pints and maintenance of prices of daily-use items in the district.
