LAHORE, Oct 16: Pakistan-India relations were improving and this would help address their bilateral issues and eradicate poverty and backwardness among their peoples.

This was stated by Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi while talking to Indian high Commissioner Shiv Shankar Menon who called on him here on Saturday.

Mr Elahi said he would visit India in December on the invitation of his Indian Punjab counterpart Sardar Amrinder Singh.

He said the exchange of delegations of lawyers, players, journalists and artistes had strengthened the process of mass contacts between both the countries.

The chief minister said mutual coordination between peoples of both the countries was leaving a positive impact on relations at the official level.

He said visitors from India and other countries were being provided with all facilities and efforts were being made to upgrade tourist resorts for the promotion of tourism in the province.

Mr Menon said the chief minister's visit to India would strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. He appreciated the completion of the development projects in the province.
