ISLAMABAD, Oct 16: Two vice-presidents of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) from Sindh and NWFP have been elected unopposed. The SCBA elections are scheduled to be held on October 23.

According to a list issued by returning officer Tariq Mehmood, who is also president of the SCBA, Mohammad Aziz Malik and Abdul Latif Yousafzai have been elected as vice-presidents from Sindh and NWFP, respectively, as no nomination papers were received till the last date.

According to rules, for the next turn president of the association will be from the NWFP, for which Qazi Mohammad Jamil, Zahoor Ahmed Qureshi and Saeed Baig are in the run.

The post of the president is given to every province on a turn basis. Currently, the president is from Balochistan.

According to the list issued by the SCBA Secretary Farooq Zaman Qureshi, 1,286 advocates have been enrolled as members of the association.-APP
