ISLAMABAD, Oct 16: Federal Minister for Water and Power Liaquat Ali Jatoi has asked the NWFP government to submit its recommendations on the construction of the Keyal Khawr Hydro Project within three weeks.

According to a press release issued here on Thursday the minister made these observations during a meeting held to resolve certain issues about the construction of the Keyal Khawr Hydro Power Project in the NWFP.

He said matters relating to the project needed to be finalized.

"The NWFP government should base its recommendations on the Power Policy 2002 and the constitution of Pakistan," he added.

The decision whether the project is to be constructed by Wapda or by the NWFP government will be taken under the provisions of the constitution.

The views of the NWFP government, Wapda and the Private Power Infrastructure Board were also discussed during the meeting.
