Spain beat Pakistan 4-0

ATHENS, Aug 21: Spain, masterminded by a hat trick from Eduardo Tubau, knocked Pakistan out of the gold medal contention of the Athens Olympics Hockey comeptition with a 4-0 victory.

After defeating Pakistan, Spain with eight points are almost sure of a semi final berth as they meet winless Egypt in their last league match.

Spain, which drew with South Korea and Germany and beat England, took firm 2-0 lead in the first half against their rivals lacking in attack and defence.

Spain's ace forward Eduardo struck lovely field goals in 6th, 35th and 42nd minutes to seal the fate of a much fancied opponents.

Spains fourth goal was netted by Santiago Freixa in 64th minute.

Pakistan will play its last league match against England on August 23.-APP
