LAHORE, July, 31: Data Ganj Bakhsh Town Union Council No 91 Naib Nazim Malik Shahzad Azam on Saturday tendered a protest resignation after being reinstated by the Lahore High Court on Friday.

In his resignation sent to District Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood, Malik Shahzad Azam has pointed out that he was resigning in protest against continued victimization by the City District Government.

He had been pressured for seconding the no-confidence motion against Town Nazim Khwaja Ahmed Hassaan.

Mr Azam further said that he and his family members had been implicated in five cases and the shop of his brothers had been got attacked. Besides, he said that development works had been stopped in his constituency for supporting Khwaja Ahmed Hassaan.

He informed the District Nazim that he had been left with no option but to tender resignation due to continuous persecution by the CDG which had made it impossible for him to serve the voters of his constituency.
