LAHORE, July 3: With seasonal low lying over Balochistan and surrounding areas and moist current from Arabian sea reaching the Punjab, the local Met office has forecast isolated rain/thunderstorm for most parts of the Punjab, including Lahore division.

The city, like other parts of the province, remained in the grip of hot and muggy weather on Saturday with fans and desert coolers failing to provide any relief.

According to weather pundits, a monsoon system arising from the Bay of Bengal is still over the coastal areas but its speed, direction and intensity are not yet clear, therefore, it is difficult to determine whether it would reach Pakistan or not.

However, scattered rain of light intensity has been forecast for upper catchments of the Jhelum, the Chenab and the Ravi along with northern Punjab and Gujranwala divisions. Isolated light to moderate rain has been forecast for upper catchments of river Indus, along with Peshawar, Kohat, DI Khan, Sargodha and Lahore divisions.-APP
