KARACHI: Edhi ambulance looted

KARACHI, May 15: Armed men intercepted an Edhi ambulance, carrying a corpse, near Garhi Yaseen and looted Rs44,000 from relatives of the deceased and the ambulance driver on Friday.

The armed men intercepted the Peshawar bound ambulance (EA-1360) and looted Rs40,000 from the relatives of the deceased and Rs4,000 from the driver.

Sources said that this was the fourth incident in the same area in which bandits looted Edhi ambulance.

On Thursday, fifteen armed men had intercepted an Edhi ambulance in Mangi village near Garhi Yaseen and looted Rs52,000.

The Edhi ambulance (EA-1590), bound for Dera Ghazi Khan, was carrying a corpse. The armed men looted Rs47,000 from relatives of the deceased and Rs5,000 from driver of the ambulance. -PPI
