LONDON, May 14: Ramnaresh Sarwan will lead West Indies in the absence of the injured Brian Lara in the first two one-day matches against Bangladesh in Kingstown, St Vincent, at the weekend.

Lara, who reclaimed the individual world batting record with 400 not out in the fourth test against England last month, received a further blow to his damanged finger in the seventh one-day international.

Bangladesh, the lowest-ranked of the 10 test nations, are making their first tour of the Caribbean. They will play three further one-day internationals and two tests.
