KARACHI, May 13: Celebrated poet Ahmad Faraz captivated the audience through his selected poetry at a "Zaili Bainul Aqwami Mushaira," held late Wednesday.

The event was organized by the literary committee of the Pakistan Employees Cooperative Housing Society at a community hall, where poets from the United States and India also recited their poetry, besides the poets from within the country.

Ahmad Faraz presided over the event, which lasted till 4am in the morning and was conducted by Ms Rukhsana and Ahmed Mubarak. Those who recited their verses included Humaira Rehman, Dr Sabiha Saba (USA), Ms Rata Dehlvi, Prof Waseem Barailvi, Meerathi Mansoor Usmani (India), Ms Naseem Nazish, Ms Rehana Roohi, Ms Perveen Javed, Dr Sikandar Shaikh, Nishat Ghouri, Sarwar Javed, Akhtar Saeedi and Hafiz Arifi.
