KOHAT, May 1: Parliamentarians belonging to Jamiat Ulema-i- Islam (Fazl) have accused the federal government of creating hurdles in the way of the implementation of the controversial Hasba Act through the governor house by causing unrest in the tribal areas.

Speaking at a party convention, JUI (F) MNAs Maulana Attaur Rehman, Maulana Shujaul Mulk, Mufti Ibrar Sultan, advisor to chief minister Akram Durrani Shamsur Rehman Shamsi, JUI district amir Maulana Abdul Hayee and secretary-general Pir Munaam Shah said that the party believed in the supremacy of the Constitution and making the country a true Islamic welfare state, says a press release issued here on Friday.

They alleged that the federal government wanted to halt the passage of the Hasba Act and to achieve this motive was creating misunderstandings between the provincial government and the district nazims.

They alleged that Wana operation was also initiated to weaken the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal government and divert the attention of the NWFP government from the issue and misled the public opinion about the policies of the provincial government.
