PESHAWAR, June 1: Five children and a woman died while seven others received serious injuries when a jeep fell into a ravine on Friday in Mansehra District.

Sources told Dawn by telephone that 12 persons of two families were travelling in the vehicle when it met the accident near Bajtar, killing three girls on the spot while a woman and two children died in a hospital of Kaghan.

People belonging the upper parts of Hazara Division, who are settled in the plain areas of Mansehra, shift their families to the mountainous parts in the summer every year.

The sources said unfortunate family had left Balakot for Jhalkat in a jeep.
