Shaukat to attend IMF, WB meetings

WASHINGTON, March 27: Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz will undertake a five-day visit of the United States from April 22. According to officials, he along with the State Bank governor , would represent Pakistan at the G-24 meetings on April 22-23, as well as attend the spring meetings of the IMF and the World Bank, which would be held on April 24 and 25.

The development committee meeting of the World Bank is a very important event, the officials said. The finance minister is scheduled to hold meetings with Under-Secretary of State Allan Larson, World Bank President James D. Wolfensohn and IMF Managing Director Horst Kohler.

Mr Aziz is also likely to meet Treasury Secretary John Snow, Exim Bank Chairman Bank Phillip Merrill, and USAID Administrator Andrew Natsios.-APP
