KARACHI, June 1: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is launching a special campaign to issue computerized national identity cards to the citizens between 18 to 21 years of age before the October general elections.

The campaign will commence from June 5 and the people will be asked to submit their application forms before July 15 for issuance of the cards on a priority basis, a press release issued by NADRA regional headquarters here said on Saturday.

During the campaign, the district registration offices (DROs) will use CNIC forms bearing a stamp for citizens between 18 to 21 years of age for the purpose and make them available on all sale counters.

The applicants will submit their applications on the prescribed forms at the special counters before July 15. New applicants already registered will attach a photocopy of form ‘B’.

The CNICs will be delivered to the applicants through the Pakistan Post Offices in green-colour envelop, indicating that these are to be delivered at a priority basis.

Booking of the forms will be arranged by DROs by opening special counters. These forms will be processed separately in special batches to meet the deadline.—PPI
