QUETTA: ANF man dies in encounter

QUETTA, March 13: Drug smugglers have killed an official of the Anti-Narcotics Force and injured four others in the Bramcha area of Chagai district. Sources said that an ANF party, acting on a tip-off about drug smuggling , raided a village near the border with Afghanistan on Friday, but faced resistance from the drug traffickers.

The drug traffickers opened fire killing Niaz Ahmed and injuring four others of the ANF raiding party. Those injured, including Rahim, Sultan and Mohammad Afzal, were brought to the Combined Military Hospital, here by a helicopter.

The sources said that the smugglers managed to escape.

MEDIA CONSULTANT: The Balochistan Government has appointed Mr Abdul Raziq Bugti as media consultant of the Balochistan Chief Minister with immediate effect.

According to an official notification issued here on Saturday, his appointment was made on a contract basis for one year. Mr Raziq Bugti is a known political leader of Balochistan.
