KARACHI, Feb 14: An activist of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement was shot dead on Saturday, near his house in Shah Faisal Colony, by unidentified killers, the police said.

Police said that Kamran Yaqoob, 28, was hit by two bullets in his head and died on the spot. The body was taken to a hospital for the post-mortem.

MQM-H spokesman, condemning the killing, said Kamran was an active worker of the party unit, 109. He alleged the police instead of looking for the killers, had been raiding the houses of the party workers.

KILLED: A police official was shot dead at his house in Ghulshan-i-Ghazi in the small hours on Saturday.

The Mochko police said ASI Mohammad Saleem, 35, was alone at his house, as his family had gone to attend a wedding ceremony, when the killers shot him dead. The family, when returned, found the body of Saleem in a pool of blood.

The police said that Saleem had a dispute over a plot with some people, who might be involved in the killing.
