SUKKUR, Feb 5: Two children were killed and seven others were injured when a wall of a school building collapsed in Saleh Pat, Rohri taluka, here on Wednesday night.

During a stage drama organized at the Government Higher Secondary School, many children were sitting on the under-construction wall of the school which collapsed.

Those killed were identified as Abdul Sattar Shaikh, 10, and Rab Nawaz Shaikh, 11. The injured included Anil Kumar, his brother, Sunil Kumar, Imam Dino Kori, Manzoor Shaikh and Bashir Ahmad Soomro.

Shaikh, Anil, Sunil and Soomro were admitted to the Sukkur Civil Hospital because of their critical condition.

District Nazim Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and other officials rushed to the school where the Nazim ordered an inquiry as to why the drama was organized without permission.

CLASH: Eight persons of the Banglani tribe were injured in an armed clash near Thul between two groups of the tribe over grazing cattlehead on Thursday.

The injured included Mohim Banglani, Bahadur Ali, Ali Hassan, Siraj, Asghar Ali, Abdul Haq and Ghulam Rasool Banglani. The police registered a case and arrested 10 persons of both the groups.

INJURED: Five persons were injured when two motorcycles collided at the Begari bund, Thul, on Thursday.

The injured, including Mohammad Murad Panhyar and Baboo Sakhi, were admitted to Thul Taluka Hospital.

LOOTED: Passengers of awagon were looted by armed bandits on the Sukkur-Larkana Road near Amrot on Wednesday.
