PESHAWAR, Jan 24: The Edwards College Environmental Club's cabinet was elected here for the year 2004-2005 with Rafiqur Rehman as its president and Abdullah Khan as its general secretary.

According to a press release issued here on Saturday, the other office-bearers elected were: Senior Vice-President Sana Khizar Kiyani, Vice-President Abdul Sami, secretary Mehwish Shafiq, Organiser (Male) Saqib Qureshi, Organiser (female) Rabia Ali Khan, Coordinator (Male) Omer Shehzad, Coordinator (female) Mehreen Iftikhar, Resource Person (Male) Yasir Iftikhar and Resource Person (female) Ayesha Al Hashmi.

Edwards College Environmental Club was established in 1993 under the supervision of Prof Shakeel Nisar. The main objective of the club is to create and increase awareness among the students about environment, pollution and its adverse effects on their life.

The cabinet planned different activities for the season, which include: Awareness workshops for inter, A-levels, degree class students; arranging lectures and seminars; video film shows on environment etc.
