KARACHI: Flyover at Quaidabad planned

KARACHI, Jan 17: The City District Government Karachi has decided to construct Quaidabad Flyover under Tameer-i- Karachi programme, and in this regard City Nazim Naimatullah Khan will lay its foundation on Jan 26.

A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Naimatullah Khan here on Saturday.

The meeting was attended by Acting Chairman, Pakistan Steel Khurshid Anwar; Director, Technical Services Talaha Saeed, Vice- President NESPAK Mohammed Ashraf Dogar, Principal Engineer Sajjad Anwar Khan, Project Director of KTP, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqi, chairman, City Government Works Committee, Abid Ilyas and City Nazim's representative Ansar Raza.

On the occasion, the meeting was informed that the flyover will be constructed at the intersection of Sharea Faisal and Quaidabad, facilitating traffic flow from Sharea Faisal to Dawood Chowrangi and signal-free flow from Landhi to Pakistan Steel through an underpass.

The PS chairman informed the Nazim that necessary survey has been completed and requested for removal of encroachments at the Quaidabad intersection.

The PS director of technical services informed that flyover plan had been prepared by Nespak.

The PS chairman said that additional expenses on flyover will also be borne by Pakistan Steel.-APP
