Balochistan promotes 118 officers

QUETTA, April 23: The Balochistan government has promoted 118 officers, including secretaries and other employees of provincial departments, into the next grade according to their seniority. Official sources said that the provincial Selection Board, headed by Chief Secretary Major (retd) Mohammad Naeem Khan and Secretary Services and General Administration Masood Ahmed Hashmi, reviewed the outstanding promotion cases and disposed off 118 cases.

The Selection Board after reviewing the cases recommended those officers and employees of the provincial department whose promotion had been due since a long time.

The sources said that on the recommendation of the board the provincial government promoted Ghulam Rasool Mengal, secretary, Industry, from grade 20 to 21. Others who were promoted include 101 lecturers, assistant professors, and associate professors, 14 engineers and sub-engineers of the Communication Department, two assistant directors and an assistant manager of the Industry Department.

All departments concerned have formally issued notification of all these officers and employees regarding their promotion.

The meeting of the Provincial Selection Board would continue for some more days for reviewing more cases of promotion.

Inspector General Police Balochistan Chaudhary Mohammad Yaqoob has also promoted 112 sub-inspectors police as inspectors whose promotion had been due since a long time.

Meanwhile, in reshuffling, the secretary, Education, Munir Ahmed Badani, has been transferred and appointed as the chairman, Chief Minister’s Inspection Team, while officer on special duty Qayyum Nazar Changezi will take over as the secretary, Education. The chairman, Chief Minister’s Inspection Team, Hafizur Rehman (DMG/BS-20), has been relieved from his responsibilities with immediate effect.

According to an official notification issued here on Saturday, Miran Jan Kakar, District Coordination Officer (DCO), Nushki, has been transferred and posted as the DCO, Zhob, while the DCO, Zhob, Syed Abul-Hassan, was asked to report to the S&GAD.
