QUETTA, April 21: Seven convicted prisoners escaped early on Thursday morning from the Central Jail in Mach, some 60km southeast of here. It is learnt that the prisoners took advantage of darkness caused by a power breakdown. They used a long peace of cloth lace to climb up the boundary wall of the prison.

The prisoners were identified as Mohammad Alam Nurzai, Abdul Qadir Barakzai, Mohammad Qasim Hazara, Najibullah Jafar, Turyalai Sulemankhel, Hamid Gul Kakar and Sahat.—Correspondent
