Honour for Danish Kaneria

KARACHI, April 21: Nazim Saddar Town Farooq Fariya on Thursday presented a gold medal to Pakistan leg spinner Danish Kaneria for his outstanding performance during the Indian tour. A simple ceremony was held at Karachi Club where a gold medal was presented to Kaneria, a resident of Saddar Town.

Speaking on the occasion, Farooq Fariya said Danish Kaneria and other players belonging to Karachi will be honoured at a ceremony shortly.

He said a road will also be named after Danish Kaneria for his meritorious contribution for the team.

Danish Kaneria expressed his gratitude to the Saddar Town Management for honouring him.

He said he was now looking forward to the West Indies and hoping to bring laurels and glory to the country.

He lauded President Pervez Musharraf for motivating the team and announcing Rs 5 million cash incentives for the team. —APP
