OKARA, May 31: The government is taking steps to modernize livestock productivity to facilitate cattle breeders.

This was stated by Punjab Livestock Director General Sajjad Zaheer Malik while concluding the 10-day training workshop on Friday. The workshop was organized by a United Nation’s department at the Bahadar Livestock Services Training Centre.

The DG urged veterinarians and their staff to do research to eradicate diseases common among cattle.

The course highlighted the cattle diseases and their cure.

ARRESTED: Saddar police on Friday claimed to have arrested a killer from his house on the GT Road.

The police said Masood Shafqat Rubera was wanted by Gogra police in a double murder case. He shot dead two persons over a land dispute in Fatehpur village two months back.

Meanwhile, Cantonment police claimed they had registered a case against 136 tenants who took away wheat crop without depositing the lease amount.

KIDNAPPED: A student of class eight was kidnapped by three people in the Government Colony here on Friday.

Reports said Bilqees bibi, Fazeelat bibi and Shahzad kidnapped one Naveed.

A Division police have registered a case.
