ISLAMABAD, April 19: Acting President Mohammedmian Soomro has said the government is making every possible effort to secure the safe release of Malik Mohammad Javed, an employee of Pakistan embassy kidnapped in Iraq. He said this while talking to the family members of Mr Javed who called on him at his chamber in the Parliament House the other day.
The acting president sympathized with Mr Javed’s family and said efforts were underway to bring the tragic incident to a happy end. Mr Soomro said Malik Javed was innocent and his abduction was distressing for the entire nation. He appealed to the kidnappers to cause no harm to the official and immediately release him on humanitarian grounds.
