Imran’s heroics goes in vain

Published April 11, 2005

KARACHI, April 10: Skipper Imran Farhat, the discarded left-handed Pakistan opener, blasted a 65-ball century but his big-hitting display was not enough to take Habib Bank into the semifinals of the Patron’s Cup on Sunday.

The bankers raced to their 205-run target in only 24.1 overs but failed to achieve a superior run-rate to oust Customs from reaching the last-four stage of the one-day tournament.

Imran’s belligerent knock included 17 fours and four sixes.
