SARGODHA, April 10: A number of participants of girls’ mini-marathon held here on Sunday demanded development of sports infrastructure for females. The girls whom this correspondent talked to said they would prefer performing within the boundary walls but with proper facilities. “The Post Graduate College ground was not fit for the sport” they complained.

The girls’ event was won by Tayaba Akbar of the host college. The prizes were also given to first 10 position holders each among school and college girls.

For male events, Majid Hussain (army) achieved the first position, Niaz Ahmed Farooqi second and Muhammad Arshad (Wapda) bagged third position in the 10-km race.

Muhammad Ramzan, Khalid Yasin and Wali Muhammad achieved first, second and third positions, respectively, in the school race of three kilometres while DO colleges Saeed Ahmed Sagoo, UC Nazim GM Fatiana and Sheikh Muhammad Arshad earned honours in the veterans event.
