ISLAMABAD, April 9: The ruling Pakistan Muslim League (PML) president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has taken notice of the attitude of federal cabinet ministers and warned them of a action if they failed to abide by party line.

Replying to newsmen’s queries at his residence on Saturday about party’s loosening grip over the government, he said: “Some ministers have shown stubbornness due to power lust against the party line and are not attending open kutcheries at the PML secretariat and are habitual of ignoring party activists.”

He said: “If I am forced to use my powers (as party president) then very few of them will be left with any pleasure.”

Mr Shujaat said he was least perturbed over the demand of Sindhi leaguers to give them internal autonomy to take decisions about the provincial organization and has decided to fulfil their demands.

To a query about the joint session of parliament, he said: “No decision of convening joint session had so far been taken.”

He told a questioner that dialogue process to resolve Dera Bugti and Sui issue with Nawab Akbar Bugti was progressing smoothly and would not be linked with other issues of Balochistan.

He said that due to the sensitive nature of the Sui installations the issue got to be tackled on priority basis. “We have agreed in talks with Nawab Bugti on some of the issues.” He, however, refused to give details of the agreed points till final decision.

Regard MMA’s protest against participation of women in marathon race, he said the alliance had been changing its stand as it had allowed a race of similar nature in Lahore.

Mr Shujaat said the MMA instead of discussing issues in parliament was taking them to streets.

He refuted Asif Ali Zardari’s statement that the ruling PML was afraid of his returning home.
