District’s division criticized

Published April 8, 2005

MIRPURKHAS, April 7: Former Federal Minister and PPP leader Nawab Mohammad Yousuf Talpur has said that the division of Hyderabad is a part of plan aimed at damaging the integrity of the Country. Member central executive committee and MNA, said that segregating the rural areas from Hyderabad urban and carving out four districts out of one was nothing but a an attempt of disintegration being planned at higher level, he said in a statement on Thursday.

Mr Talpur said the move could spark ethnic riots in the province and demanded immediate withdrawal of the decision. The way the decision was announced followed by going to London next day had exposed the true string-pullers of the Sindh govt. He said that the PPP would oppose the carving out of new districts in Hyderabad, Dadu, Jacobabad and Larkana and would reverse the decision whenever it returned to power.
