HARIPUR, April 6: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, Haripur chapter, has demanded registration of an FIR against NWFP minister for transport and fisheries Akhtar Nawaz Khan for his alleged involvement in a firing case and his expulsion from the alliance. The district heads of MMA’s component parties made the demand at a joint news conference here on Tuesday. Syed Lal Hussain Shah Advocate, district president of MMA, Qari Mohammad Yaqub, secretary-general and Ghulam Nabi Tanoli Advocate, a JI office-bearer, held the minister responsible for inciting his brother Gohar Nawaz Khan to open fire at a peaceful procession of MMA on April 2.

“He is involved in the attack and should be taken to task,” they said, demanding that an FIR should be registered against him for abetment in the case.

The MMA leaders alleged that the minister possessed a fake BA degree and claimed that the document had been sent for verification to the University of Karachi.
