LAHORE, April 4: Four people, including a lawyer, were shot dead over an old enmity on Raiwind Road in Sattukatla on Monday. Police said Advocate Tariq Majeed, 45, a former LHC bar office-bearer, along with his cousin, Shaukat Ali, and two gunmen Shaukat Dogar and Arif was on way to The Mall when a car intercepted them. Five men got off the vehicle and sprayed the lawyer’s car with a volley of bullets. They continued firing until they got assurance that all of its occupants had died.

Police reached the spot and removed the bodies to the city mortuary for autopsy.

Abdur Rahman told the police that his lawyer cousin had an enmity with Lumberdar Sadiq of Raiwind. He said advocate’s brother, Rana Khalid, had killed Amjad Ali, a son of the lumberdar, some seven months ago, and had been in jail since then. He said the lawyer had also been nominated in the murder. —Staff Reporter
