KARACHI, April 4: The City Government has finally come out with a plan for improvement of its slaughterhouse with fixing of tiles, construction of RCC roof and improved water supply and sewerage system. A decision in this regard was taken by City Nazim Niamatullah Khan during a visit to the slaughterhouse in Landhi on Monday. He directed the Agriculture EDO Amin Khaskheli to prepare a comprehensive plan to improve the sanitary conditions of the slaughterhouse.

Earlier the nazim inaugurated the fodder market at the Bhains Colony, established there to overcome the traffic problems caused by fodder carrying trucks.

Parking of fodder trucks will help overcome the problems caused mainly due to parking of 200-250 trucks daily at the Mehran Highway.

On the occasion, the nazim set up a committee headed by EDO agriculture to submit recommendations for providing necessary facilities at the fodder market.

The committee will have the presidents of dairy and fodder associations and district officer veterinary as members.

The DCO Karachi Fazlur Rehman, Bin Qasim Town Nazim Ashiq Jamote, Landhi Town Nazim Mohammed Shahid, EDO Revenue Mohammed Waseem and TMO Nazir Lakhani were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the city nazim while visiting Babar, Mohammed, Madina and Mustafa markets, reviewed the encroachment problems.

The shopkeepers present there also apprised the nazim about their problems. — APP
