KARACHI, April 4: The Sindh Tourism and Culture department has prepared a strategy to promote Sindh’s traditional sports. This was disclosed by Sindh Minister for Tourism and Culture Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani while presiding over a meeting of tourism officers here on Monday. He said the implementation of this programme would help the people to watch and participate in the sports which had gone into oblivion.

Mr Qaimkhani said that work on the implementation of a master plan had begun for participation of tourists in traditional games like Kabaddi, Malakhra, Dangal to be organised on various occasions.

The minister said that these sports would be organised at district levels in Mirpurkhas, Karachi, Hyderabad and other cities of the province as well as rural areas.

During these events, special arrangements would be made for the stay of the participating tourists.

Mr Qaimkhani said that positive efforts were being made for the exposure of Sindh’s culture to the world.

He announced that a second cultural troupe of Sindh was being sent to some Central Asian countries with a view to highlight Sindh’s culture in those parts of the globe. — APP
