KARACHI, April 4: Four ships carrying containers, rice and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday. Meanwhile, three more ships also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy was maintained on the higher side as seven ships, Merker Beach, P&O Nedlloyd Colombo, Multan, Gold Carrier, Ace-7, Nur Yanbu and Yong Feng, were busy in loading and offloading containers, rice, edible oil, chemicals and coal.

A cargo volume of 54,203 tons comprising 29,772 tons of import cargo and 21,431 tons of export tonnage was handled. Sailing was also active as Nur Yanbu, Ace-7, Young Feng and P&O Nedlloyd Colombo left the por.
