CHISHTIAN, April 2: Five members of a family were killed and four others suffered serious injuries as their car overturned on Chishtian-Dahranwala Road here on Saturday.

Police said a family of Chak-136, Chishtian, was going to attend a marriage function of their relative by a car. Near Chak-98, Fatehki Gujjar, one of its tyres burst and it overturned.

Hamid Rashid (40), his sons Ali Hamid (4), Noman (3), nine-year-old daughter Minhayal and sister Sajida Parveen (30) died on the spot while another son Jamat Ali (13), wife Kausar Parveen, Inaam Arain and driver Muhammad Ashfaq were injured.

The injured were admitted to hospital where the condition of Jamat Ali was stated to be serious. —APP
