ISLAMABAD, April 1: Federal Minister for Commerce Humayun Akhtar Khan has said Pakistan and China have finalized the items for the Early Harvest Programme (zero rate of duty on import of goods) to promote trade between the two countries. The minister was talking to a 26-member high-level Chinese delegation led by Vice-President and Secretary-General, China Society for Promotion of the Guangcai Programme, Hu Deping.

The Early Harvest Programme between the two countries would be signed during the upcoming visit of Chinese prime minister to Pakistan, Mr Khan said. He said economic situation and business prospects in Pakistan were a great attraction for foreign investors.

The minister said China could use Pakistan as a production base for value addition and then export its goods to rest of the world.
