KARACHI, April 1: The private schools in the province have been asked not to withhold admit cards of SSC annual examinations of class IX and X in any condition.

There were reports that a number of private schools in the province have declined to give admit cards to students on the pretext of non-payment of fee by them or for any other reason. The SSC exams are scheduled to commence on April 5.

Speaking to Dawn, Additional Secretary Academics Dr Mehboob A Shaikh, who is also the chairman of the registration and inspection committee for private schools, said on Friday that schools should issue admit cards to all students and ensure that they appear in examinations.

The issues pending with students should be sorted out at some later stage, he added, saying if any further complaint against schools was received, strict action, including cancellation of registration, would be taken by education department.
