Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, March 31: Berthing activity at the Karachi port on Thursday was maintained on the higher side as agencies tried to clear the backlog of ships awaiting berths on the outer anchorage.

According to KPT sources seven vessels were berthed. They are: Cape Ferro, Kota Wangsa, Global Prince, Hyundai Highway and Iran Shahryar, to unload and load containers, Hyderabad, to unload rock phosphate and Lauren to offload chemicals were berthed after the departure of as many.

The departing ships including Iran Shahryar, APL Pusan, Oranje, Corin Thaikos, Multan, Tawe, and Sea Baisen, while Hyundai Highway, Cape Ferro, Shalamar, Bruce Park and Global Prince are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 88,144 tons comprising 17,621 tons of export cargo and 70,523 tons of import cargo was handled.

The following ships are due

on Friday: Y.M. Faha, Kota Indah and Wan Hai-267, with containers.
