Irrigation SDO kidnapped

SUKKUR, March 28: A sub-divisional officer of the irrigation department was kidnapped by some unidentified armed men from Kambrani Laro, near Kandhkot, late on Sunday night, along with his son, who was later released.

Ghauspur irrigation SDO Dur Mohammad Behalkani and his son, Khadim Hussain, were on way to their village, Khawand Bakhsh Behalkani, in an official jeep. When they reached near Kambrani Laro, a group of armed men intercepted and kidnapped them along with the jeep, and fled.

After covering some distance, the kidnappers released Khadim Hussain along with the jeep and fled towards the forest area, taking Dur Mohammad along with them.

On a tip-off, the Kandhkot police pursued the outlaws, however, no recovery was reported till filing of the report.
